Beautiful Gay Surfers Converge in Costa Rica

If you caught the bug from Out in the Line-Up, the new doc on gay surfers, here's your chance to get in the water.

Tamarindo, on the west coast of Costa Rica, is the perfect venue for both beautiful waves and relaxation. In November, it will also be the home of Gay Surf Week 2014, an event full of "beach, sun, fun and waves with your fellow gay and lesbian surfers and beach lovers."

Tamarindo is known to be one of Costa Rica's most prime locations to surf with two miles of coastline and 82 degree water. Don't fret if your surfing is not your thing, because Gay Surf Week will also provide for those who just want to relax on the beautiful coastline and soak up the sun. Gay Surf Week offers three different packages: Beginner Surf, Advanced Surf, and the Beach Bum. All packages include seven nights accommodation, daily breakfast, two day trips to nearby beaches, a half day sunset cruise (with open bar and lunch), two hour zip-lining tour, and other social activities.

The Beginner Surf package features three surf lessons, with the first one in Tamarindo. The Advanced Surf package features unlimited board rental, and three guided surf trips. The Beach Bum package includes plenty of time to work on your perfect tan in Tamarindo and the beaches of Avellanas and Playa Grande, as well two spa treatments.

The price ranges from $699 USD to $1,799 for a single occupant's choices of accommodations at Blue Trailz, Tamarindo's leading hostel, and Jardin del Eden, one of its boutique hotels. Find more information on booking here. Gay Surf Week 2014 is from November 8 to 15.
