Bring the Halloween Parade Back to NYC!

Bring the Halloween Parade Back to NYC!

One of the nation's best Halloween festivals is imperiled.

There are few cities that know how to do Halloween right: New Orleans, Los Angeles (West Hollywood, to be exact), and New York City. The raucous Village Halloween Parade through Manhattan's Greenwich Village and other neighborhoods began in 1974 and has only grown in attendance and legend. Last year's event was sadly canceled because of Superstorm Sandy, leaving organizers short of cash for 2013's event. A Kickstarter campaign is now trying to wrangle funds so a parade happens this year, which would be the 40th annual parade. If you can, give the campaign a few coins  they need to raise $8,000 in just a few days  and check out images from earlier Village Halloween Parades on the next pages.
