PHOTOS: A Gay Games Athlete Shares His Cleveland Story

San Francisco's Justin Garrett, a vice president at Here Media, Out Traveler's parent company, competed in the tennis competition during last week's Gay Games. He was kind enough to share his pics from the event, which he calls a rare showing of gay fellowship.

The Gay Games in Cleveland were a well-attended gathering of athletes and sports fans, and the cities of Cleveland and Akron rolled out the Midwest Charm in a big way. From my personal experience, there was a strong sense of camaraderie among the athletes; everyone was cool and helpful. The best part of the experience — outside of the actual competition — was developing new friendships with people from other parts of the U.S. and the world. See you all in Paris in 2018!
