Where in the World Is: Athlete Simon Dunn?

Where in the World Is: Athlete Simon Dunn?

The Australian bobsledder is single, and currently training in Calgary, but he's waiting for marriage equality in Australia before getting hitched

With Olympic gold on the mind, Australian bobsledder Simon Dunn is still just a hopeless romantic. In an interview with Attitude, Dunn opened up about training for the Olympics in Canada, past relationships, and waiting for Mr. Right. Although he wants a husband (and is currently single), he’s passionate about waiting to get married until it’s legal down under:

“I am working so hard training so that I can make it to the 2018 winter Olympics, but one day I would like to meet the right guy, settle down and have kids. But I will only do this when I can get married in front of friends and family in my home country. If I can represent that country in sport I should be able to marry the person I love. I can’t believe that now the U.S. has passed same-sex marriage, my country still hasn’t caught up with the rest of the world, which makes me angry. The law needs to be changed as soon as possible, otherwise we’ll look as bad as other countries who treat gay people like second class citizens”

It looks like Australia has until 2018 to get its priorities in order. Meanwhile, Dunn is staying busy, training in Calgary where he says the gay scene does not leave much room for his big heart. “It’s hard to meet guys, because there isn’t a big gay scene in Calgary, and I’m training so much. And when I’m not training, I’m working at a gym, so that I can earn money. Once I get the Olympics out of the way, my next challenge would be to find a boyfriend and settle down. It can get lonely being in bed on your own!”

Dunn recently posed for Attitude's "Naked Issue" and, with a bum like his, we're sure that’s one challenge he won’t need much training for. He was then "annointed" as the magazine's Hot 100 winner. The day after Aussie bobsledder Simon Dunn was crowned the hottest man in the world — beating One Direction, Channing Tatum, Tom Daley, and a whole host of other hot fellas — he flew from London to Arizona to get some celebratory tiger tattoos on his manly thighs!

Simon On His Tattoos:

'I am so happy with the tattoos! I've been really excited about getting them and tops off a great week for me! That said they still hurt but the pain will subside eventually! I hope everyone likes them! Although my mum will never approve of them! Sorry mum!'

Simon on Marriage Proposals Since Winning Attitude's Hot 100

'It's funny since I won, I have had so many messages to Facebook and Instagram accounts asking to marry me! I'm flattered but once I get back to Calgary i'm straight back to training!'

Simon on One Directioners not happy about him beating them on the chart!

'Yeah I have had a few negative comments from 1D fans! For young girls they sure have dirty mouthes! But I just ignored them and deleted their comments as I don't want to spoil the memories of this week! The irony is Liam Payne is one of the guys I think is super hot! I still can't believe I won - I'm not Channing Tatum or Chris Pratt! I'm just a normal guy who pushes a sled for a job! But thanks again everyone! I really appreciate it! This has been the best time of my life!'
