James Franco Created a "Pop-Up" House at a Hollywood Cemetery

Franco, along with a bunch of Hollywood heavyweights, are "curating" Los Angeles houses for the online rental company Airbnb.

Airbnb, the popular website that hooks travelers up with shorterm rentals, has a new marketing campaign in L.A. that's being aided by stars like James Franco, Anjelica Huston, and Moby.

The celebrities are "curating" prefabricated houses all over the city (though the structures are designed by real-life architects). Franco oversaw the creation of a small house in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, the final resting home for stars like gay actor Tyrone Power and rock stars Johnny and Dee Dee Ramone; the cemetery often hosts film screenings and DJ sets. Franco's house is a mini-masoleum with a "YOLO" ("you only live once") sign on it that's supposed to be ironic in light of its surroundings. It also features a paint-by-numbers piece, a "hand chair," and exterior wall with 32 placards printed with quotes from Franco's favorite writers and miniature vases of flowers, similar to what you'd find in a real mausoleum.

Airbnb also nabbed Anjelica Huston to create a fast food-themed structure in her Venice house, while Moby, Molly Sims, and Lake Bell also have pre-fab projects around the city. Read more here.
