PHOTOS: 'Ruined Paradise' at Roseland Ballroom's Last Black Party

The final Black Party at New York's famed Roseland Ballroom happened earlier this month and it was a party to end all parties.

The leather/fetish bacchanal known as the Black Party danced its last dance at Roseland Ballroom earlier this month. Now, in its 35th year, the Black Party draws thousands of revelers to Manhattan with nearly 24 hours of dancing and elaborate, and sometimes S&M-themed, shows. This year's event included an homage to India and the theme was titled "Ruined Paradise" — a possible reference to Manhattan itself, which has been in full-on gentrification mode since the 1990s, not long after Black Party debuted at The Saint nightclub in '88 (before later moving to Roseland). With Roseland shuttering this month, it's not clear where the party will take place in 2015, but many believe Brooklyn will be Black Party's new home.
