Best Haunted Hotel>Hotel Queen Mary, Long Beach, CA
QueenMary.com
The Queen Mary is often considered one of the most haunted places in the United States. Once one of the world?s most sought after method of travel across the Atlantic, and later home to troops during World War II, the Queen Mary has quite an interesting history ? make it a prime location for paranormal activity. Since being docked in California, many scary reports have surfaced, like sounds of crying children in a room which once served as the third class playroom. Other rumored hauntings include the spirit of a fireman who was crushed to death by a heavy watertight door during a fire drill in 1966, and the spirit of a man who drowned in the second class pool. A woman has been sighted by employees walking the promenade deck wearing clothing in the style of the late ?30s and has disappeared when employees attempted to follow her. In the first class swimming pool a young woman in vintage swimwear and a young girl seen clutching a teddy bear have also eerily appeared. Splashing sounds are also heard by visitors although the pool has been drained for decade.
