Aspen Gay Ski Week

Dive into the exhilarating slopes and vibrant celebrations of Aspen Gay Ski Week, where winter sports meet inclusivity and philanthropy in a week-long extravaganza.

This story is brought to you by our partners at Aspen Gay Ski Week.

Aspen Gay Ski Week (AGSW) stands proudly as the oldest annual, week-long LGBTQ+ ski event in the nation, setting the gold standard for similar gatherings across the world. For 47 years this vibrant celebration has seamlessly blended the thrill of winter sports with a commitment to fostering tolerance and understanding. Nestled in the picturesque and historic mountain town of Aspen, Colorado, AGSW offers a unique vacation experience that goes beyond the slopes.

Let's explore why AGSW is not only a thrilling ski week but also a beacon of inclusivity and support for the LGBTQ+ community.

AGSW is not merely a ski week — it is a groundbreaking tradition that traces its roots back to 1977. Often considered the first form of LGBTQ+ Pride in Aspen, the event has evolved into one of the largest LGBTQ+ non-profit fundraisers in the region. This milestone is a testament to the event's enduring legacy and its pivotal role in shaping Aspen's vibrant LGBTQ+ community.

At the heart of AGSW is AspenOUT, a local non-profit organization dedicated to anti-bullying and tolerance. Since 1996, AspenOUT has been instrumental in producing AGSW, with the aim of funding local programs and supporting national organizations aligned with their mission. By promoting tolerance, understanding, and diversity through education, community action, and service, AspenOUT has been a pillar of support for the LGBTQ+ community in the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. AspenOUT is humbled to have the continued support of JPMorgan Chase & Co. as the title sponsor for AGSW 2024. These sponsors help provide over $275k for LGBTQ+ college scholarships, mental health services both locally and nationally, and grants to smaller grassroots LGBTQ+ nonprofits that often get overlooked for vital funding.

AGSW extends its festivities beyond the ski slopes with a week-long lineup of captivating indoor events. From glamorous parties to insightful talks, AGSW ensures there's something for everyone, creating a sense of community and celebration.
