Opened in 1902, this hotel is known for its Round Table Room meetings where a gathering of writers and actors (including Dorothy Parker) known as the Vicious Circle met. In 2004, the hotel was renovated, which some believe angered the ghosts of these 174 rooms. People have claimed to hear strange noises and even see apparitions. Some believe they're the ghosts of the Vicious Circle.
After opening in 1716, this inn served as a hospital during the Revolutionary War. Guests who've stayed in room 424 have reported some strange activity. It was used as the operating room for Dr. James during the war.
This hotel comes with a more romantic ghost story. Built by Thomas Rowe, there's a replica courtyard and fountain of where he met a Spanish opera singer in London. One of LA's most noteworthy hotels is also said to be the eternal residence of one of its most noteworthy stars. Marilyn Monroe lived here for just a couple years while her modeling career was beginning, and guests believe she's one of the many ghosts to reside in the classic hotel.
The ghost that haunts this hotel is apparently friendly, taking delight in silly pranks. Known as the Pink Lady, she's said to appear in a pink mist. Guests claim she turns air conditioners on and off, tickles their feet when they sleep, and even holds their hands.

If you don't know this one by name, you're surely familiar with its legacy. It inspired the hotel Stephen King wrote about in The Shining. Although King only stayed one night and didn't see any ghosts, many guests have reported hearing laughter and a piano playing. Most of the ghosts are apparently past employees and guests.
