Actors Bruno Gagliasso and João Vicente de Castro, both straight, kissed one another on live TV to show there's nothing wrong with 'showing our affection and love' for other men.

Two straight actors are using kisses to fight homophobia. Bruno Gagliasso and João Vicente de Castro, who are two of the most high-profile actors in Brazil, locked lips on live television last week at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in Rio de Janeiro.

Gagliasso posted an image of the embrace to Instagram Thursday. In the caption, he explained to "all the macho card-carriers, hypocritical and prejudiced” that there was nothing wrong with “showing our affection and love," as explained in a translation provided by PinkNews.

The post has been liked over 89,000 times and has received nearly 20,000 comments since it was published.

Same-sex marriage was legalized in Brazil in 2014, but reported hate crimes against the LGBT community are high. Over 200 LGBT people were killed in the South American country last year.
