Tel Aviv, Israel - This year marks the 40th anniversary of pride in Israel and to celebrate the occasion, LGBTQ leaders from around the world will gather in Tel Aviv from June 9 - 11 for the 40 Years of Pride summit. Organized by The Aguda, Israel’s National LGBT Task Force, and A Wider Bridge, a North American pro-LGBTQ organization, the conference will host an array of speakers including M. Christophe Girard, Mayor of the Fourth Arrondissement of Paris; Seattle Mayor, Ed Murray; Nigerian LGBT activist, Davis Mac-Iyalla; Lamda Legal’s Jennifer Pizer; Alice Kessler from Equality California; and many, many more. Guests of the conference will also travel to Jerusalem to tour the Old City and meet with key policy makers. To register for the conference, go to 40yearsofpride.com.

 

New York, NY - Get your science on and visit the American Museum of Natural History’s Life at the Limits: Stories of Amazing Species, an exhibit that explores some of the incredible adaptations in plant and animal species living in inhospitable environments, running through January 3, 2016. Life-size and larger-than-life models will introduce visitors to amazing creatures like the Hercules beetle (Dynastes hurcules) that can carry up to 80 times its own body weight or the Waterfall climbing cave fish (Cryptotora thamicola), found only in two caves in Thailand, that use their enlarged fins to hold onto rocks (pictured above).
