Plus: the latest news on EuroPride 2015, Night of a Thousand Gowns, honeymoons in Paris, and that party you can't attend

New York, NY - On Saturday, April 11, the Imperial Court of New York will host its 29th Annual Night of a Thousand Gowns at The Marriott Marquis. Since its inception, the event has raised millions for LGBT, HIV/AIDS and youth enrichment programs. In addition to the Imperial Court’s coronation, activist and playwright, Larry Kramer, will receive the Imperial Diamond Award and entertainers including Jody Watley, the cast of Avenue Q, and Cheyenne Elliott will perform. Tickets for this year’s event are on sale at icny.org and will benefit the LGBT Community Center of New York and The National LGBTQ Task Force.

Riga, Latvia - This year’s EuroPride 2015, June 15 - 21, will be the first to take place in a former Soviet republic. As part of the historic event, the festival is planning the Baltics’ longest Pride parade, a “Black Carnation” LGBT film festival, a Tom of Finland exhibition, and more. Organizers for the event, however, have met some funding challenges since government and local corporate support has been non-existent. To make up for the lack of sponsorship, organizers have set up a crowdfunding campaign to help defray some of the costs. For information on booking your trip to Europride, visit Europride2015.eu.

La Quinta, CA - The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival kicks off this weekend, and for a third year, the swanky, members-only Soho House will set up its desert outpost — Soho Desert House — as a relaxing break for invited guests to enjoy snacks, Grey Goose cocktails, a dip in their pool, and BMW shuttle service.

Charlottesville, VA - On the heels of holding its first same-sex wedding, The Clifton Inn, a beautifully bucolic 17-room inn situated near the Blue Ridge Mountains, is offering couples who book the entire inn for their wedding a five-night stay in a luxury Paris apartment for their honeymoon (or another occasion as long as its within a year of the booking.) For more information and complete details on the offer, email the Weddings & Event Director.

West Hollywood, CA - Arguably the most well-known gay hotspot in the world, the Abbey Food & Bar has announced that starting today it would begin selling “Religious Freedom Cupcakes” for $5 to benefit the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). The cupcakes will come in a rotating selection of flavors decorated with the HRC logo and will make for a delicious dessert after that pizza we couldn’t get in Indiana.
