Television is about to get a whole lot gayer. Logo has recently announced a fabulous new lineup of programming, in addition to another season of everyone’s favorite GIF encyclopedia, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and the gay Bachelor-esque dating show, Finding Prince Charming, hosted by Lance Bass.
But the reality show we’re all waiting for is Fire Island. If you miss the semi-real-life drama of The Hills, this should be a good filler for the Heidi shaped hole in your heart. From Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ Milojo Productions, Fire Island is a new docuseries that follows a group of successful gay New Yorkers as they escape their stressful lives for Fire Island summer. Two months of love, friendship, and fun awaits these young men in one of the gayest destinations on earth.
“Fire Island is an exciting new addition to Logo’s slate and perfectly complements the stories our audience craves,” said Pamela Post, SVP of Original Programing for Logo. “We’re thrilled to give it a home alongside yet another incredible season of intense competition on RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
In addition to Ripa and Consuelos, Albert Bianchini, Lenid Rolov, Pamela Post, and Tim Palazzola serve as executive producers. Jen Passovoy serves as producer for Logo. Fire Island will premiere on Logo in 2017.
