The Drink: La Cuchara's False Idol

If you find yourself in Baltimore, try La Cuchara's False Idol; meanwhile, take a shot at the cocktail from home.

Currently one of Baltimore's most popular restaurants, La Cuchara offers its eclectic mix of guests a memorable dining experience through its great food, innovative drink menu and industrial-chic decór. In fact, the eatery was recently a stop on BravoTV's "The Tour Group" host, Brandon Presser's Baltimore stay.

"The [the False Idol] pairs wonderfully with the pintxos, fresh crudos, and boards of charcuterie," Presser recommends.

Jacob Lefenfeld of La Cuchara says his inspiration was to "create a bourbon drink for people who are not normally into bourbon. This is a light refreshing cocktail where you can still taste the spirit. A balanced drink for all.”

Until you find yourself in Baltimore, you can try La Cuchara's False Idol at home:

1.75 oz Buffalo Trace Bourbon

1 oz of Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

.75 oz of Agave nectar

All ingredients are hard shaken with ice and strained onto fresh ice. The finishing touch is a piece of lemon peel that is charred with fire over the drink. This adds a fragrance of smoke & lemon to compliment the drink.
