When you hear the phrase “Wild, Wild West,” what city or town comes to mind? El Paso, Texas? Maybe. Albuquerque, New Mexico? Another likely candidate. How about Provincetown, Massachusetts? Yeah, didn’t think so.

And yet, Provincetown’s western flare should be on your mind this August 17, when the queer-friendly tourist destination hosts its 2008 Carnival. Spend seven days attending events like beach volleyball games and drag bingo. And spend your nights getting frisky with hot cowboys at various dance parties and theme nights, including the “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy” masked ball.

To check out the full list of events or purchase tickets, visit the Carnival Web site. For some other great Ptown information, check out our past article on gay summer resorts and our comprehensive Provincetown travel guide.
