Eager to spend the holidays with family, travelers are not quite so eager to stay with them and many would rather rent a hotel room than put up with the in-laws. To minimize stress and make this season truly joyful, Hotel Indigo, the industry’s first branded boutique hotel, is offering an affordable haven with its "Escape the In-Laws" package.

Guests who book the package at participating properties between now and Jan. 14, 2009, will receive luxury accommodation, breakfast for two, and a "Family Decompression Kit" complete with aspirin, aromatherapy oil and a bottle of wine. Sounds inviting! Starting from $129, travelers will find solace at the hotel's relaxing lobby, welcoming hotel ambassadors and the comfy guestrooms and spa-inspired showers. Public spaces are transformed seasonally through changing aromas, music, artwork, murals and directional signage, so chances are high of mistletoe and sparkling Christmas trees.

"Hotel Indigo caters to the style-conscious traveler that values personal service, affordable luxury and a genuine hotel experience,” said Gayle Jett, director, brand management, Hotel Indigo. “Whether looking for a break from family this holiday season or already making plans for a summer getaway, we look forward to welcoming LGBT travelers to Hotel Indigo properties, including our newest hotels coming to Miami Beach, London and New York City's Chelsea neighborhood in 2009."

Money-saving tip: Invest in some handy carry-on bags for the shorter trips, where a little can go a long way, and avoid the long lines at the baggage carousel and potentially lost or stolen luggage!
