Pride Italian Style
Story by Ed Salvato; above a piece of art at the Romeo Hotel
Each year Italy's National Italian Gay Pride event takes place in a different Italian city. This year's event will be held in Naples on June 26. Sfortunatamente, the Pride website is in Italiano.
To celebrate the swanky Romeo Hotel in Naples is offering a special Napoli Pride Package, valid June 21-28, including the following:
- Accommodations for two in rooms with dramatic views (request the views of Mt. Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples);
- Welcome strawberries and Prosecco upon arrival;
- Daily buffet breakfast daily (try some of the specialties of southern Italy like cured meats and fresh cheeses); and a
- Copy of the hotel's city guidebook, crammed full of insider tips from the hotel’s local staffers.
The Romeo Hotel, open since early 2009 is a work of art, from its glass facade, left, to specially commissioned artwork and photography found throughout the 83-room boutique property. The outside pool deck provides a respite to enjoy a drink while soaking in the city views.
