I'm in Las Vegas at the fabulous, gay-friendly Encore Hotel. In the Tower Suites which are just a tad bit even more fabulous than the rest of the hotel. Just tried the salon (best mani/pedi ever) and Wazuzu, the pan-Asian but mainly Japanese restaurant. Below right: sunset from room 3308.

The strip is buzzing; hotels are packed; there's a buzz in the air. Why? You have a confluence of "only in

Las Vegas" events, including

• A visit by President Obama (above) stumping for Senator Harry Reid;
• Justin Timberlake rocking Planet Hollywood; and
• A huge rodeo.
