French Brand The Kooples Heading Stateside

Map_imgWe Americans love to outsource our mass-produced brands to anyone who will have them. Hey China, want a Gap? Here you go! Oh, London! Interested in a J. Crew? We'll FedEx one over right away. And don't get us started on Apple Stores which have spread like a viral disease to every corner of the world. But Europeans are a bit more protective with their "high street" brands. It took us ages to get a TopShop in New York, and we're still waiting for stores like Cos to make it overseas. But word is that the French brand/store The Kooples—which has locations in France, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Ireland, and Spain—is eyeing the USA for the next phase of their expansion. Their rock 'n' roll, androgynous, street-chic style seems like it would be a seamless fit for New York City, but it sounds like we'll be finding out for sure in the very near future as sources toldElle that they were hoping to open in "a couple of months."
