Adele Rides Stripper Pole at Iconic London Gay Club During Surprise Appearance

Go easy on us, Adele!

Following the BRIT Awards, hit singer and songwriter Adele let off some steam at a gay bar in London. In a series of posts on social media that surfaced Thursday night, Adele was spotted at Heaven Nightclub at the weekly G-A-Y Porn Idol event. 

Heaven is a superclub in Charing Cross, London. In addition to being a music venue, it is the host of the G-A-Y nightclub which has a variety of weekly events and is a staple of London's LGBTQ+ nightlife scene — it is one of London's longest running gay dance clubs. Adele is the latest in a long line of celebrities to be spotted there.

On Thursday, RuPaul's Drag Race U.K. alum Cheryl Hole hosted and judged G-A-Y's Porn Idol event, where contestants compete in in a strip pole contest and win cash. The event has often been hosted and judged by Drag Race alum who are in town, like Trixie Mattel, and to some has become a rite of passage for touring in London.

"I'm sorry, not Adele turning up at my show tonight," Hole tweeted after hosting. Adele had been spotted in the crowd and then brought up on stage where she got on the mic to help judge.

"Cheryl, you know I love ya," she said at one point. "Always love Cheryl. Cheryl Hole is one of my heroes. Fuck it, she is."

The singer even took a swing around the stripper pole herself, in addition to helping choose a winner for the amateur competition. 

In addition to Porn Idol on Thursdays, G-A-Y hosts Camp Attack on Fridays and a general dance night on Saturdays.
