While Wu is currently based in New York, he often visits Taipei, Taiwan, where he was born and raised until the age of nine, to see his family. Here, his favorite haunts in the city.

Jason Wu rose to fame in 2009 after Michelle Obama sported an iridescent, one-shouldered, white chiffon gown he designed to the president?s inaugural balls. One showstopper later, he now oversees a thriving ready-to-wear line, with garments adored as much for their meticulous detail as for their singular, vibrant prints, many of which originate from Wu?s own watercolor creations.
