Working in travel and hospitality no longer means donning generic coats and ties or power suits. Airlines and hotels are looking to high-end designers to redefine their looks. Recently, Zac Posen has lent his luxury designs to Delta Airlines while Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant has given a vintage touch to uniforms at the Watergate Hotel in Washington DC.
New York’s Refinery Rooftop is the latest to join the trend with a competition of some chic uniform designs by some of the fashion industry’s freshest talent. The boutique hotel's rooftop bar kicked off NYFWM by hosting the official after party for New York Men’s Day, from which four designers have offered their unique visions for the hotel’s new look. Bristol, David Naman, R. Swiader, and Uri Minkoff are in the running with their own distinct outfits.
The winner will be decided by the public. Voting is open via Facebook until March 10. The winning design will be debut this spring on the Refinery Rooftop.
