"On Miami, Florida's Biscayne Boulevard, between 59th and 79th street, there's a strip of fabulous mid-century roadside motels. In these roadside accommodations, during the 1950s and '60s guests could find free postcards with photos of the motels in bright technicolor that they could mail to friends and family while on vacation. Often these were images of the motels without people (or just a couple or a single family). As a photographer, I wanted to give an homage to these classic motel postcards while also adding an '80s hunk to the photos. Although many of these motels had been run down for decades they are now being restored to their former glory."
