You can now stay on the same tour bus used by the queen of country music Dolly Parton when she toured the country and wrote some of her most famous work. The Suite 1986 Tour Experience at the Dollywood resort in Pigeon Fork, Tennessee, is the actual bus used by Parton from 2008 to 2022.
And now you, too, can live like country royalty for the night, although it might just cost you your kingdom for the pleasure.
“I have homes all over the United States, but my favorite place is the bus because that way I can just feel those wheels rolling,” Parton said in a statement announcing the Suite 1986 Tour Experience. “I’m a true gypsy at heart.”
Parton traveled roughly 360,000 miles throughout North America on the bus. She lived in the Suite 1986 when she kicked off the Pure & Simple Tour in 2016, and she wrote the albums Backwoods Barbie and 9 to 5 the Musical while traveling in what the famed LGBTQ+ ally lovingly dubbed her Gypsy Wagon.
The bus is extensively customized and decorated to Parton’s exacting tastes and standards.
The bus sleeps two and will set you back $10,000 for a two-night stay, and also includes a four-person guest suite at the DreamMore Resort.
Portions of the proceeds from the rental of the Suite 1986 Tour Experience will go to good causes like the Dollywood Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
