Make the Most of Napa’s ‘Cabernet Season’
For only $75, get complimentary tastings at these 16 wineries.
When Napa Valley’s harvest season comes to a close, the crowds clear out, and the temperature grows milder, the region enters something called “Cabernet Season.”
“It’s kind of an insider’s secret,” says Eric Reichert, CEO of the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center, “that what we call ‘Cabernet Season’ is one of the best times to visit.”
The Chamber’s “Winter in the Wineries Passport Program” is the best way to make the most of this underrated season. Running nine weeks — from December 3, 2022 through February 5, 2023 — the program includes complimentary tastings at each of the 16 participating wineries in the Calistoga AVA (American Viticultural Area).
Passports, valued at $400 in tastings alone, are only $75 each, making them a perfect holiday gift. Passport holders also receive discounts at Calistoga hotels, restaurants, spas, and shops. More info at visitcalistoga.com/winter-in-the-wineries-passport.
