December and the holiday season are upon us. A festive spirit is in the air. The trees have been trimmed and the stockings hung by the fire. Stores are filled with bustling shoppers as Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” plays on loop in the background. And, of course, no Christmas season is complete without our jolly Saint Nick delivering his special presents to the LGBTQ+ community.
Yes, Virginia, ‘tis the season of the year for Santas of all bodies, genders, and ethnicities to throw caution to the wind, risking frostbite and public shrinkage, to run a short distance in the cold wearing little more than a bright red speedo.
While the global pandemic forced many Santas to make their speedo runs with their families or worker elves in their own homes or North Pole workshops last year, the traditionally rotund gift-giver is back for some half-naked fun for 2021. Provincetown’s Holly Folly Jingle Bell Run (left) Chicago’s famed Boystown Most Fabulous Santa Speedo Run (right) took place last weekend, but there are still plenty more events in the month ahead to let out your inner speedo Santa.

Budapest might be too far to travel for this weekend’s Budapest Santa Speedo Run, but the thought of enjoying the city’s famed hot springs and baths with a few jolly silver daddies post-run does make the prospect tempting.
