Sexy Tourist Police in Mexico

A new way to boost tourism to Acapulco, Mexico has just been announced. And it comes in uniform...

Wanted: Women ages 18-26, who are at least 5-foot-5 and whose weight is proportional to that height. Must have good physical and mental health. Knowledge of English is a plus.

That's right, like a force of raven-haired Amazons, Acapulco is recruiting a sexy police squad to patrol the ocean resorts and provide security and resolve problems for tourists, even if it is just to guide them in the right direction.

Ramon Almonte Borja, head of the states public security seems to be a little too excited about the idea. He wants “preferably only beautiful women” and is having “gorgeous uniforms designed so that Acapulco can have an additional visual attraction to what we already have.” (Project Runway, we have your latest design challenge.)

As you can imagine, this news has got women’s rights groups fired up. Blanca Rico, executive director of Semillas in Mexico City says they are “indignant over the news. Once again women are put in the stereotype of being decorations. One would never imagine male police officers being selected for their looks."

I guess we can only hope for it.
