Los Angeles Pride returned for 2022 as over 100,000 people joined grand marshals Sir Lady Java, Mark Indelicato, and Paula Abdul to celebrate more than 50 years of celebrating Pride in the city.
The first Los Angeles Pride march was held in June 1970 just a year after the famed Stonewall Riots and was the first permitted parade for LGBTQ+ rights in the world. This year’s march took place Sunday, June 12, and was organized by Christopher Street West.
Los Angeles was just one of dozens of cities across the country celebrating Pride this month. And there are even more countries celebrating Pride around the world.
