Dominican Republic Pride 2021

Pride returned to the Dominican Republic, a welcoming space for islanders and visitors to celebrate their identities and the LGBTQ+ community.

Last August, the Dominican LGBTQ+ community took out of the closet their most vibrant and colorful outfits to celebrate the annual Pride parade in Santo Domingo. Photographer Carlos Rodriguez captured plenty of iconic moments: Chica Permiso rollerblading gracefully to the delight of the gathered crowds; Pose star, Indya Moore handing out roses and love to all the people who crossed their path; and ordinary islanders celebrating Pride and the community.
