Fire Island Wants to See You In This Swimwear
What will you wear on Fire Island this year?
Ludovic de Saint Sernin is really excited to introduce you to his new Swimwear. He and his team have been working on this project for over a year now and it’s finally here.
Each of their Eyelet Swim Briefs are handcrafted in Paris and designed to last beyond just one summer. They will be part of Ludovic’s swimwear collection forever. The collection is made in Paris because of the know-how of French ateliers who have an accumulated knowledge spanning generations but also because it reduces the carbon footprint of the production. Longer lasting garments with timeless design are better for you and for the planet. The best fabrics are chosen to ensure longevity, support the integrity of the design, and to feel good against the body.
The campaign images were shot last August in Fire Island by Thomas Giddings and feature the beautiful Nicholas Wright. Fire Island means so much to the gay community as it became a safe haven for queer people from the ’60s until today. It had to be the location for this campaign.
The first swimwear collection features the Eyelet Swim Briefs in 7 different colors. They are all named after favorite destinations. Fire Island is Black, White for Mykonos, Beige for Marrakech, Hot Pink for Ibiza, Red for Palms Springs, Turquoise for Capri, and Navy for Côte d’Azur.
Ludovic de Saint Sernin is still a very small brand but they want to use this project as a starting point to give back to the community. A few months ago they got in touch with Le Refuge. This organization supports young LGBTQIA+ people here in France that are rejected by their parents and driven from the family home because they are homosexual, trans or questioning their identity. Please visit their page @lerefugeofficiel to take a closer look at the work they do and see some of the people that they have helped, their stories are very emotional, particularly at a time when health and wellbeing is a privilege not to be taken for granted. 10% of the profits of the swimwear sales will go to support Le Refuge.
More will be donated to a charity to support the Black Lives Matter movement including G.L.I.T.S. It is a grassroots organization dedicated to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community on a global scale. So for the next month an additional 10% of the profits of their swimwear sales will go to support G.L.I.T.S. Please visit their page @glits_inc to take a closer look at their work.
This is the first time that Ludovic de Saint Sernin Swimwear is able to give back to charities and their mission is for this to be an ongoing contribution of LdSS.
