Illuminated uses art to explore the full gender spectrum…
…and also explore the restraints society places on the concept of gender and gender expression.
The art embraces an intersectional view of the meaning of masculinity and femininity.
Each installation beckons the viewer to not just observe, but to question.
Barberio made their artistic debut with their solo exhibition The Ambisextrous.
They are a senior art director at VaynerMedia.
Her most recent work, Understanding Me, was exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art Long Island in May.
