Mighty Real/Queer Detroit (a nonprofit promoting positive LGBTQ+ images through art), in partnership with the City of Detroit Office of Arts, Culture, and Entrepreneurship, will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Detroit Pride with the nation's largest exhibition of works by LGBTQ+ artists for the entire month of June.
The event will feature 150 fine artists and 700+ works of art, hosted by 17 galleries across the city, represent queer art from 1945 to present. There will also be parallel programming that includes 40+ performing artists, poetry readings, artists' talks, panel discussions, youth art exhibits, and more.
If you can't make it to Detroit, we've got a preview of the Mighty Real/Quer Detroit exhibit. Here are some of our favorite works of LGBTQ+ art.
