This may be the first time we've ever voluntarily decided to wear an ugly holiday sweater. For one-day only, December 15, Alaska Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and Horizon Air will give priority boarding for any passengers wearing a cotton holiday explosion at the airport throughout North America.
“Travel during the holidays can be stressful for guests—especially those who do not travel often. This fun promotion not only allows guests to board early on that day, but gives people another opportunity to dust off that ugly holiday sweater hanging in the back of their closet,” a representative for Alaska Airlines said.
This will be the first year that Alaska Airlines and its partners are celebrating #UglySweaterDay. If your weekend plans don't include a trip to the airport, you're still encouraged to follow along on the ugly fun on their Instagram.
Alaska Airlines has already started getting into the holiday spirit, as it plays festive music for the entire month, but on a sweeter note, their annual Fantasy Flight brought in-need children from Spokane, Washington to the "North Pole" where they were given all sorts of gifts from Santa.
