The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City will off audiences the first Warhol retrospective organized in the US since 1989, and the largest in terms of its scope of ideas and range of works. With more than 350 works of art, many assembled together for the first time, this landmark exhibition, organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art, will unite all aspects,, mmedia, and periods of Warhol's 40-year career. The show opens to the public Novemeber 12, where it will run through March 31, 2019. The exhibit will also be traveling to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Art Institute of Chicago.

While the famous artist's Pop images of the 60s are his most recognizable works, what remains far less knwon is the work produced in the 70s and 80s. The exhibition will position his work as a continuum, demonstrating that he didn't slow down after surviving the assasination atemept that nearly took his life in 68, but entered into a period of intense experimentation, continuing to use techiniques he developed early on and expanding upon previous works.
