All major US airlines serve Brussels airport from the US, as does Brussels Air?a member of the Star Alliance?which began offering daily service out JFK in 2012.
To/From Brussels Airport
When you land in Brussels, there are different ways to get to Antwerp: By train or by Airport Express bus.
The train station is located on the lower level of Brussels International Airport and connects to Brussels every 20 minutes. Here you change for trains to Antwerp?s gorgeous Central Station.
There is also a very convenient Airport Express bus service to Antwerp every hour on the hour. It departs from the lower level. Follow the signs in the arrival hall. A ticket on the bus costs 10 euros. The bus does several stops in Antwerp. They accept U.S. dollars.
GETTING AROUND WITHIN ANTWERP
Antwerp is a metropolitan city in a small package. It is really easy to explore the city on foot. Save on attractions with the Antwerp City Card.
The Antwerp City Card costs 28 euros and offers free entry to all Antwerp museums and monumental churches, a discount of at least 25% on tourist attractions, sightseeing and bike rentals, and exclusive offers for typical Antwerp and Belgian products, such as chocolate.
Go to the top of the MAS museum for a wraparound view of the city. Though you have to pay for entrance to the museum, the access to the rooftop is free!
When you're in Antwerp, you will see a lot of bikes. People in Antwerp love to bike. Antwerp has Velo city bikes with stations dotted around the city. You can purchase a day pass (3 euros) or a week pass (7 euros) on the website.
If you still prefer to take a bus or a tram, a ten-trip card for De Lijn costs 9 Euros, and it can be purchased at the Antwerp Tourism & Convention desk at the Grand Place and at the Central Station.
The rest of Flanders is easily accessibly by train. Brussels, Bruges, or Ghent are all an hour (or less) away. Whether or not you're taking a train, don't miss the stunning railway cathedral of the Central Station, a must-see on your visit to Antwerp.
