Atlanta's Airport Still the Busiest

Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport was the busiest U.S. airport in 2012.

Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport continues its reign as the country’s busiest airport, with 45.7 million passengers in 2012, according to rankings the Bureau of Transportation Statistics released this week.

Although Atlanta was the busiest overall, New York-JFK was the busiest in the country in terms of international traffic.

The Top 10 busiest airports in the U.S.

 

1. Atlanta: 45.7 million passengers
2. Chicago O’Hare: 32 million passengers
3. Los Angeles: 31.2 million passengers
4. Dallas/Fort Worth: 27.9 million passengers
5. Denver: 25 .9 million passengers
6. New York-JFK: 24.4 million passengers
7. San Francisco: 21.2 million passengers
8. Charlotte: 20 million passengers
9. Las Vegas: 19.7 million passengers
10. Phoenix: 19.5 million passengers
