The Party's Over for Naked Gay Revelers in Vegas
The only full-service clothing-optional resort for gay men in Las Vegas abruptly shut its doors on Wednesday.
The Blue Moon Gay Men's Resort, located a few blocks west of the world-famous Strip, operated 45 rooms and suites, a pool, grotto, waterfall, and steamroom. It was popular with locals, who enjoyed the Sunday barbeque, and visitors who often sun-bathed au naturale in the Nevada sun.
On Monday, owner John Hessling left the following message on Blue Moon's Facebook page:
"It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that as of Wednesday October 15th, Blue Moon Resort will close it's doors for good.
It has been a long and wonderful 12 year run. I've met some fantastic people along way and had many wonderfully supportive customers. And for that I am eternally grateful. Your happiness was truly my happiness.
Sadly due to circumstances beyond my control I have to close my doors.
At this point, I don't know what my future holds, but wherever I land, I look forward to having you all as part of it.
Thank you to the Las Vegas Community and thank you to the Bears of Las Vegas for all your support.
Sincerely,
John Hessling
