Spotlight on Mexico City: Mercado Roma

Based on the traditional concept of the Mexican Market, this hotspot takes that culinary experience to the next level by bringing some of the best gourmet groups under the same roof.

Michel Rojkind, the famous architect who also designed the Cineteca Nacional, designed the contemporary retro black-and-orange Mercado Roma with its iconic mosaic pattern floors. It can get a bit crowded between booths, but there is an open space at the back with wooden tables and a vertical garden.

Buy organic, artisanal and Mexican products or stay and taste artisanal cheeses from all over the country, wine from Baja California, and enjoy fresh oysters from the Pacific. There is something for everyone.

After delighting your senses, head up to the third floor at the Biergarten Terrace (pictured), a German-style beer house with a modern industrial touch. Good music and fun are guaranteed.
