The Pose stars are leading a week-long celebration of LGBTQ+  self-acceptance that is also a fundraiser for the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association starting on Giving Tuesday (December 1st).

Pose stars Jeremy Pope and Indya Moore are teaming up with the travel brand  Orbitz to help raise $50,000 benefitting the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association. Launching on Giving Tuesday (December 1st), the week-long campaign is a part of the promotion for Orbitz’s new channel Orbitz.com/Pride, which features LGBTQ+-welcoming travel properties.

Like a growing number of corporate partners, Orbitz is not only marketing to the LGBTQ+ community but also offering needed resources — and donating additional funds to queer causes.

Although Orbitz was among the first travel brands embrace the LGBTQ+ community and to create advertising and content featuring openly gay couples, Orbitz brand director, Carey Malloy says in a statement, “The journey is just beginning for our brand as we advocate for a more equal and inclusive travel experience for LGBTQ+ travelers around the world. We’re thrilled to be working with Jeremy and Indya, who are influential and important advocates in this community, to support this work with IGLTA.”

Pope and Moore were recruited to promote #TheJourney, a campaign at Orbitz.com/thejourney, through which people can thank a friend or family member who has helped them on their journey to self-love and acceptance. For every message sent, Orbitz will donate $20 to IGLTA up to $50,000.

In addition, thank you message recipients will receive 15% off a hotel stay when they book future travel on Orbitz, and those who sent thank you messages will receive $20 Orbucks travel dollars, if/when their referral books a hotel stay on Orbitz.com.

Travel can help LGBTQ+ people get out into the world, discovering community while also learning more about themselves.

“Not everyone feels safe enough to be themselves openly in this world,” says Moore in a statement. “Finding that safety is a journey that requires so much self-love and acceptance, and deserves celebration. Some of us can and have done it alone, but it’s easier when we have the support we need to embark on our journey to realizing ourselves, our dreams, and what we deserve. Wherever our journeys take us literally and figuratively, I’m so grateful that Orbitz is supporting us by helping improve our already challenging travel experiences."

As part of the #TheJourney, campaign, Pope and Moore will star in a series of social videos, art directed and filmed by Pope, sharing intimate stories about their own journeys to becoming who they are today.

“From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to have a very hands on role in Orbitz’s Giving Tuesday campaign,” Pope notes in a statement. “Because the meaning and intention behind it is one so deeply personal to me. I art directed and shot the video one on one with Indya to also give the campaign content an added layer of intimacy. I hope the rawness in our storytelling helps spark meaningful dialogue around the journeys we all traverse within the LGBTQ+ community, this Giving Tuesday and beyond.”

IGLTA was founded in 1983 and is the world's leading network of LGBTQ+ welcoming travel companies. It provides free travel resources and promotse equality and safety within LGBTQ+ tourism worldwide.
