Riding the subway in New York is often a lesson in proper space utilization, with crowds necessitating people make themselves smaller, not bigger. A lot of folks have not gotten the memo, so the city is starting an awareness campaign next month urging people to take up less space on transit — and that includes people taking off their backpacks and men pushing their legs together.
