Resort Recommendations Perfect for LGBT Lovebirds

Perhaps it’s the approach of Valentine’s Day or the recent leaps and bounds toward marriage equality that have us seeing a bit more love in the air lately. So should Cupid's arrow strike, a round-up of some great warm-weather hotel offerings around the U.S. to heat up your February:

Should wedding bells be on the horizon, the W Retreat & Spa, Vieques Island, Puerto Rico has debuted the nation’s first exclusive hotel partnership with an LGBT wedding planner, renowned expert Bernadette Coveney Smith, and, the resort’s “14 Stories Wedding Day” offers custom experiences for same-sex couples. Once hitched, guests can stay for an super-stylish honeymoon, indulging in sweet treats like a hot chocolate bath treatment in an oversized tub.

Plantation House, St. Regis Bahia Beach

Guests of The St. Regis Bahia Beach (above), Puerto Rico can book the “Romance at St. Regis” for Valentine’s Day and enjoy luxury sedan transportation, champagne upon arrival, a picnic basket for an intimate lunch outing, a nature tour with the resort’s Marine Biologist, breakfast and couple’s massage. Also, prior to arrival, call on the eButler, who will be ready to unpack belongings, decorate with flowers, or a whole host of other options.

Feel good by doing good at The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa has launched an exclusive LGBT Couples package that features a Welcome Amenity, $40 Spa treatment credit toward a private poolside cabana, late checkout and a $20 Donation to South Carolina Equality.

Beach Cabanas, Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa

The "Pride & Joy Package" at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa (above), available through March 1, 2015, includes a room with ocean views, welcome fruit and Champagne, daily breakfast at McCoy’s Oceanfront and a daily beach cabana. Lovebirds can also experience sea-inspired treatments at the award-winning SiSpa, poolside relaxation and beach access with water sports.

Palm Beach County’s only all-suite beachfront hotel, the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa, boasts a prime location with its own private beach on Singer Island, a barrier island on Florida’s famed Gold Coast. Their Pride & Joy Package, available through March 31, 2015, includes overnight accommodations for two in a luxurious suite, two cocktails on arrival, assorted cheeses and a bottle of Champagne as a welcome and daily breakfast for two at 3800 Ocean.

Hilton Hawaiian Village

Waikiki’s Hilton Hawaiian Village (above) destination resort offers couples the chance to unwind beside five pools (or just one if you choose), experience the Waikiki Starlight Luau, or immerse in local culture with hula and ukulele lessons. And, since the state’s legalization of marriage equality in 2013, the Hilton Hawaiian Village debuted the on-property White Beach Chapel with the Karissma wedding experiences service from Best Bridal Hawaii.

As part of their “Love Goes Around Package”, specifically for Valentine’s Day, guests of the Andaz West Hollywood will be treated to sparkling wine and macaroons upon check-in before treating each other to rub downs with signature scented massage oil (also included). The romantic retreat a deux ends with a buffet breakfast at RH restaurant or served in the privacy of their guest room.

Also for Valentine’s Day, couples can check into The Standard, Downtown LA for “The Standard <3 You” package that includes a room upgrade, (a very considerate) late checkout, and their Valentine’s Box filled with a bottle of champagne, rose petals, temporary tattoos and some other “mystery” gifts to round out the night.

Want to tie the knot but afraid it's too last-minute? With just 72-hours notice, couples at the Viceroy Palm Springs (above) can take advantage of the "Midnight Elopement" that includes overnight accomodations in a Villa for the newlyweds,  a candle-lit ceremony and Veuve Cliquot reception for up to ten guests, light hors d'oeuvres and personal flower arrangements.
