A new hate crimes exhibit, a Brazilian artist's first U.S. show, Germany's largest lesbian party, and Chaz Bono's stage debut

Los Angeles, CA - Chaz Bono makes his first dramatic onstage acting debut in David Auburn’s play Proof at the Lounge Theater. The Tony Award-winning play tells the story of a woman that has been caring for her father, Robert (played by Bono), a mentally unstable mathematical genius, and who, upon his death, goes looking for answers in the mathematician’s 103 notebooks. The show runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through April 12. For show times and tickets, click here.

Washington, DC - Last week, the Crime Museum unveiled a new exhibit, Attacks on America: The Fight Against Domestic Terrorism and Hate Crimes, which honors the victims of terrible acts on U.S. soil through a presentation of artifacts. Items on display include runner's bibs and a backpack from the Boston Marathon bombing; former NBA player Jason Collins’s retired #98 Jersey in honor of Matthew Shepard, who was killed in a 1998 hate crime; a copy of The Meaning of Matthew Shepard, written by his mother; rubble from 9/11 and more.

“We hope this exhibit will raise awareness and emphasize the importance of educating people, as a way to prevent hate crimes,” noted Crime Museum Chief Operating Officer, Janine Vaccarello.
