Sweet Sweet Travel

The new lesbian travel company on the block, Sweet , doesn't officially launch until September, but buzz is already building around its plan to combine fun lesbian cruises with hands-on philanthropic experiences.

Sweet's opening foray into queer travel, a Fall 2009 Caribbean cruise that departs from New Orleans after guests spend three days participating in Hurricane Katrina relief, is a perfect example of Sweet's mission to fuse vacation 'me time' with volunteer-oriented efforts to help under-served communities and non-profits around the world.

Now that Sweet has also partnered with CarbonFund to go carbon-free, there probably isn't a more wholesome -- or sweeter, even, -- lesbian travel experience out there.
