Sweet Sweet Travel

The new lesbian travel company on the block, Sweet, doesn't officially launch until September, but buzz is already building around its plan to combine fun lesbian cruises with hands-on philanthropic experiences.

Sweet's opening foray into queer travel, a Fall 2009 Caribbean cruise that departs from New Orleans after guests spend three days participating in Hurricane Katrina relief, is a perfect example of Sweet's mission to fuse vacation 'me time' with volunteer-oriented efforts to help under-served communities and non-profits around the world.

Now that Sweet has also partnered with CarbonFund to go carbon-free, there probably isn't a more wholesome -- or sweeter, even, -- lesbian travel experience out there.
