Story by Olga Bas
In the spirit of spring, The Liaison Capitol Hill is offering a themed package to celebrate the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
The 343-room D.C. hotel, soon to celebrate its first anniversary, has a seasonal rooftop pool and bar and a contemporary Southern restaurant, Art and Soul, created by two-time James Beard Award winner Art Smith. The property also offers an array of amenities, such as a six-choice pillow menu and SPAffinia, a selection of in-room spa treatments.
The package will include a live cherry blossom branch to take home (so guests will not be tempted to break the law and pull one off a tree), a basket of goodies from Art and Soul, and 10 handmade cherry blossom note cards. The package, which starts at $223 per night, is available from March 28 to April 12, 2009, and can be booked by using the code CHERRY.
Money-saving tip: If you love coupons (and who doesn't?), put your savings skills to work for vacations as well. Look around Craigslist, eBay, or Google to find reductions on airfare and hotel prices.
