WomenFest Key West: Sapphic Paradise

WomenFest Key West is just around the corner. The Conch Republic welcomes lesbians all year round but every September it becomes just a little more welcoming to gay women (and their friends and allies). This year's event takes place September 7-12 and includes a wide range of activities, including:

  • Golfing;
  • Clothing-optional pool parties;
  • Fun nightlife
  • Bull riding (described as "sexy and competitive"!); and
  • Women-only water excursions ranging from jet skis to dolphin watching

For the less adventurous, there's always sipping cocktails by the pool, a Key West standard among lesbian Keywest2 and gay visitors for decades. There are plenty of host hotels for all budgets and tastes but we love Pearl's Rainbow, the only women-only resort on the island. (Just hurry, this is a popular guesthouse that weekend!).

Beyond cocktailing, there are also films, live music, and lots of comedy to sample. Sexy, sultry breakout artist Lori Michaels, famed lesbian crooner and songwriter, will be performing. No doubt she'll sing her newest mainstream hit Real Close, a duet she performed with Danielle Staub.

Enjoy other lesbian favorites, including Emily Saliers, Suzanne Westenhoefer, Corday & the G-Strings, and more.
