The historic building in DTLA is now the STILE Downtown Los Angeles by Kasa. Upon the closure of The Ace Hotel in January, STILE opened its doors in February 2024. The freshly rebranded theater is now The United Theater on Broadway, and a stylish Brooklyn wine bar, Sauced, now sits upon its rooftop.
The hotel invited Out Traveler inside to see what's new.

The entire check-in process has gone digital, so there's no need to go up to the front desk. Before your scheduled arrival, STILE sends guests a pre-check in link where you'll input your information and take a photo of your ID. They'll follow up with an email containing custom log-in codes to the front door of the hotel, the elevator, and even your room.

182 kings, queens, and suites, that is! Our suite boasted a full fridge, desk and lounge area, and even a clawfoot bathtub with a view of downtown LA.
The building and rooms also boast art and sculptures by South Korean artist Jibin Im. The in-room self-care amenities were also crafted in Korea.

The most significant change to the 8,000 square foot rooftop's bar is the addition of Sauced in September 2024.
The original wine bar opened in January 2020 in Williamsburg and the LA location maintains the menuless traditions of the original with no printed wine list, therefore "Guests are encouraged to chat with bartenders, taste different pours, and explore a diverse selection of wines," according to the press release. "Alongside a deep BTB selection, Sauced LA will feature 20+ bottles open nightly, with standout producers like Bastian Wolber, Chavost, Matthieu Barret, and Anne-Claude Leflaive."
Our server, Jillian, was particularly knowledgeable and helped me select the best wine I've had in ages.

No, the hotel doesn't offer breakfast. But you can stop by the morning cafe for a latte ahead of your day on the town. And in the afternoons, the space offers guests and the public a unique happy hour from 4-7pm.

The property is adjacent to the historic United Theater on Broadway, which is just as beautiful as ever and still hosting events and concerts, including ones catering to the LGBTQ+ community, including shows from Bob the Drag Queen and Hannah Gadsby. Morrissey is also planning two show stops on December 28 & 29.
