TMPL Gym Opens in NYC, Blending Fitness and Fantasy

David Barton's eponymous brand of fitness centers - with locations in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, Chicago, Miami and Boston - have always had a flair for the theatrical. In fact, the bass-thumping music, ambient lighting and eye-popping decor have been a big part of what has contributed to the company's success for more than twenty years.

Now, it seems, with his latest venture, TMPL, Barton has truly outdone himself in the gym-meets-nightclub market segment. Check out some of the images from this week's opening party with guests that included drag queens, club kids, and mermaids:
