The late night host sent correspondents to two different bars in New York during this week’s debate.
This week marked the first presidential debate of the 2016 election. While we were rolling our eyes at a majority of the program, Samantha Bee sent her correspondents out to get the public’s opinion.
One correspondent was tasked with attending a Republican viewing party at Tonic, a bar in Midtown Manhattan. Another joined the Democratic viewing party at the historic Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village. While the debate ensued, they interviewed a few spectators from both sides of the debate. The result was a phone call between two strangers with drastically differing viewpoints that went about as well as can be expected.
