Best Adventure Getaway: Australia
Runner-up: Hawaii
If you want to hike, swim, and snorkle, apparently Australia is the place you want to do it in. Of course, Sydney and Melbourne are urban wonders, but not far from these cities are opportunites for everything from paragliding to horseback riding. Exploring the Outback should be on all our bucket lists.
Favorite Family Destination: San Diego
Runner-up: Provincetown
California's second-largest city is the place for gay families. Not only is San Diego clean and inviting, it's nearby numerous amusement parks, from Sea World to Legoland to Disneyland. Obviously, the city offers plenty of adult pleasures too, if you can manage to find a babysitter and sneak off to Hillcrest. Honorable mention goes to Provincetown, which is a wonderful place to bring the kiddies during the summer (though maybe not during Bear Week).
Best City After Dark: New York
Runner-up: Berlin
The Big Apple has long been reknown for its nightlife and it is apparently not ceding the crown to hip cities like Berlin. Maybe it's the small apartments that gives New Yorkers the incentive to fight the weather and hit up the bars and clubs on a Wednesday night, because there is something amazing going on every night of the week. Of course, the fact that most establishments don't stop serving the sweet nectar until 4 a.m. helps.
