The Ritz-Carlton, Ranch Mirage, on a 650-foot bluff overlooking Palm Springs, opens its doors May 15.
The resort will feature 244 rooms, suites, and residences, numerous restaurants, a two-story, 24,000 square foot spa, and oodles of meeting space. Cliffside swimming and serenity pools will prominently feature the area's rugged mountainous landscape, with many nearby hiking trails available to guests. There will also be deals with nearby golf courses and tennis courts if you're the sporty type.
Meanwhile, the design is meant to highlight indoor/outdoor living and celebrate the desert environment with lots of scenic spots for drinks and meals. "Muted natural hues and tactical materials" were used in the design, according to a release from the hotel. Reservation accepted beginning March 17. If you're in the money, the Ritz-Carlton may be a good place to stay if you're attending next year's White Party and Dinah Shore Weekend and you want to be a little removed from the Palm Springs craziness. It's a good option if you're attending Coachella 2015 — and definitely don't want to rough it — as it's a bit closer to the festival grounds than P.S.
